I feel I always say this, BUT I honestly cannot believe Ben is already one year old! HOW did this happen? Where did my little guy go and how am I already the mom of two toddlers?
But enough of that! Time for his 1-year update!
Nicknames: Ben, Benny Bear, Benifacio, Silly Monkey.
Likes: Ben adores his brother and loves playing with him. He enjoys throwing balls, playing with cars and trucks and paging through books. He loves looking at Pudge and Panda and will throw some of his favorite items over to them when they’re in their little area. This has caused some issues with things landing in the water bowls (like my mom’s Kindle Fire but we don’t talk about that haha). Along these lines, he loves to throw things over the baby gates, and we end up with random toys in the kitchen or the stairs haha
This kid LOVES to eat, and some of his favorite foods include Italian sausage, green beans, strawberries, and spaghetti.
Dislikes: There’s very little he doesn’t like, but the first few minutes of Moana, when the grandma is talking about all the monsters, make the list haha.
Milestones: Since his last update the BIG thing has been entirely mastering walking and almost full on running now. He’s also starting to babble much more, and he’s said “car” (referring to the movie) and “ball.”
Weight/Height: he’s weighing 25 pounds and is off the charts for height at 31 inches. Basically, he measures closer to a 2-year-old than a 1-year-old haha.
Clothing Size: He’s in 18 months clothes and just about to move into 2T clothing, which just BLOWS my mind.
Sleep: Since the PCS to Germany sleep has been pretty touch and go, but he is finally getting into a good routine. He naps from 1130-12 to anywhere between 130 or 330, depending on how tired he is. Then he goes to sleep around 730-8 at night and sleeps until about 630. We’re hoping he’ll extend that closer to 730 soon. He still has some night wakeups here and there, usually if he’s sick or didn’t have enough dinner.
Random Tidbits: This boy has completely stolen my heart. He is the sweetest boy and gives the perfect best smiles. You can see in his face how much he loves Joey and one of his best moments was when he figured out that walking meant he could follow and play with Joey. In the last month or so they’ve grown closer and played together a lot throughout the day.
I ADORE his cheeks, and I’ll honestly cry when he starts losing his baby fat, and those cheeks go bye bye. Last but not least, he has crazy curly hair, and I don’t think I’ll ever have it in me to cut them off.
