It’s been a little while since I’ve done a life update, so I thought I’d share some of what’s been going on around these parts lately.
It feels weird to be writing about Halloween sitting next to our Christmas tree, but here we are. Truth is Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love, love, love it. Sadly, this Halloween was a bit of bust.
Our theme this year was Harry Potter, and I was STOKED. I had so much fun putting our costumes together, more so than in previous years, even. However, after living in the desert for four years gave me a huge blind spot. I was not ready for how cold it’d the last week of October, at all. I thought I made our costumes warm enough, but I was so, so wrong.
When we went out for Trunk or Treat on post, we lasted all of 10-15 minutes before we headed back home because we were all freezing. So when Halloween night was colder, we decided to stay home, which was a huge bummer. But it was all a learning lesson for next year!
I have a whole post coming soon, but I love this so much I couldn’t not share! My friend Julie (who I met through blogging!) invited me along for a Polish pottery shopping trip. I was up from 4 am to 12 pm that day, and it was a blast. I’m officially a Polish pottery addict, and I can’t wait to go back.
Another holiday, another bust? Hopefully, the theme doesn’t repeat for Christmas, hah! I was looking forward to Thanksgiving, as we were set to do a potluck type celebration with our neighbors… until my mom got the flu and got both Joey and Ben sick. Joey woke up with a fever on Wednesday morning and Ben was the same after his nap.
We ended up making our usual, at-home, dinner which was delicious but I so wish we could’ve gone over and celebrated with our neighbors. The plus side of this, however, was that I got an early start on Christmas decorating while at home!
