Why do I need to know my blog’s most popular content?
Your top 10 posts are already bringing in people to your blog but are those people converting? Read through these posts and brainstorm ideas on how to turn them to blog subscribers through content upgrades or similar! Adding content upgrades is a quick way to build up your email list. Also, make sure you’re adding links to related content on your blog, so readers stick around.
Popular blog posts are content people already love, and they provide an easy way to increase your blog’s income. Read through your blog’s top 5-10 posts and look for opportunities to monetize this content by adding affiliate links to products or services you already mentioned in the posts.
Create Similar Content
Take a look at your top 10-15 blog posts. Do you see a trend? Is there a category that’s more popular than others? Is there a particular type or format your readers enjoy? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, brainstorm content you can create that is similar to already popular content on your blog.Want to find your most popular post on your #blog? How to find your blog’s popular content
So now that we’ve covered the why, let’s go through the how of finding your blog’s most popular content.
Before getting started, you’ll need to have Google Analytics installed on your blog.
First, log into your Google Analytics account. On the left sidebar go to Behavior > Site Content > All Pages.
Once in the Pages screen, click on Date Range drop-down on the top right corner. Here you can select the date range you’ll like to see. By default Google Analytics shows you the last week but you can change it to anything you want. You can use one of the preset date ranges (this week, this month, etc.), type the date or use the calendar to select your range. Once you’ve done this, click on “Apply.”
Now scroll to down, and you will see a list of all your blog posts, and pages, in descending order by pageviews. This list shows your blog’s most popular content for the selected date range!
So now that you have a list of your blog’s most popular content, go through the three steps above and make the most of it!
