Hi friends! I’ve mentioned before how much it means to me when past clients come back for a new design – it’s just the best feeling. Only topped by clients asking me for new and exciting things. Like a Squarespace design.
Squarespace is all the rage right now, I’m a big WordPress girl but I 100% get the appeal of Squarespace as a super streamlined platform. So when Toni asked for my honest opinion on all that she hoped to do, I knew Squarespace was the answer for her – and I got to play on a new platform!
It all starts with the moodboard for me – this has honestly become a HUGE step for me in the design process. As I mentioned, I had worked with Toni before and knew there would be lots of pink and green and her inspiration board did not disappoint.
The Website Design
Originally, we started this project as a revamp of Toni’s old Blogger blog that I designed a few years ago. However, as we talked about her brand and all that she hopes to accomplished, it quickly became clear that Toni had outgrown Blogger. So we looked at both WordPress and Squarespace. Toni decided on Squarespace, which both terrified me and made me really excited.
One of the things that Toni made clear from the start was her wish to have a big beautiful photo on the homepage – she gave me TONS to choose from and loved how the chosen one works in the home page and with Toni’s colors.
I had never before worked on this platform so this design was a big of a challenge for me since I was not sure 100% what all I could or wouldn’t do but I am so happy with the way it turned out for Toni. I still love WordPress all the way but I believe Squarespace makes a lot of sense for some people, depending on their long term goals. I love how she was able to streamline her brand and combine blog + shop all in one home in an easy way – make sure to check it out!
