Summer is almost here! (unless you live in El Paso like me, in which case summer has been here for a solid 2 months already but I digress). And you know what that means – Summer Reads! There’s no time like summer to catch on those reading goals, and below I’ve gather 5 Young Adult Books you should most definitely read this summer!

5 YA Summer Reads – 2015
Paper Towns by John Green
If you ever come across a reading list with YA books that *doesn’t* include John Green, you might as well walk away. This book is no Looking for Alaska or The Fault in Our Stars, but it’s John Green and therefore still pretty darn genius. Paper Towns follows the story of Quentin and Margo as they embark in an over-night adventure full of crazy pranks and paybacks. In the process, Quentin realizes Margo isn’t the happy-go-lucky popular girl he’s come to think of her as. It’s all about her well and how little we really know the people we love. And movie is coming out this summer as well!
P.S.: I Still Love You by Jenny Han
There will be a long review of this (and it’s prequel – To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before) coming next week but just listen to me, READ THESE BOOKS. You can thank me later. Light-hearted romance, coming of age, being an awkward girl. These two books, that really read as one, are fun, light and perfect for a beach read.
Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen
Sarah Dessen has truly become one of my go-to for fun, light reads – aka, the perfect summer read. In her newest book, Saint Anything, she explores how someone else’s mistakes and bad choices can affect your life and how family can mean much more than that we were born into, we can also choose our family.
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
Four friends, part of a prestigious family, called The Liars. Lies, so many lies. Something that happened that Cady can’t figure out. I could not put this book down, the suspense was killing me and then… The ending left me speechless. I didn’t know what to do, I just sort of sat there and thought “Did that really just happened?” Yup, it did. I can’t tell you more because I don’t want to give anything away. Read it, just read it.
The Heir (The Selection Series #4) by Kiera Cass
This is the 4th book in The Selection Series and it’s so, so good! Falls right in line with the rest of the series – my only “maybe not this summer” comment would that there will be at least one more book and you’ll be left wanting to read it ASAP. But in the meantime, if you haven’t already, you really should read the first three books in the series. The Bachelorette meets The Hunger Games, and it’s a bit of a guilt read but if summer is not for guilt reads, I don’t know what it is for.
