Once upon a time I was a 20-something girl that had never been camping. Yup, well into my 20’s and I hadn’t been camping. My husband called foul and took me camping – I won’t lie, there were mixed reviews but if there was one thing I loved about camping was the food. Burgers! Hot dogs! S’mores! Bring it on, baby. I could totally do this camping thing – and we have. Lots. But now that we have Joey our camping prospects this summer seem… slim, at best.
So you can imagine my sadness when I was walking through Walmart and saw the S’mores display over by all the camping stuff – Hershey’s bars! Marshmallows! Graham Crackers! Oh, the heartache.
BUT. Then I thought to myself, do you really need a campfire to make S’mores? Let it be known I am not above microwaving S’mores. Been there, done that, so any day could be a s’mores day but I also felt like there had to better way? There had to be a auick, easy solution for summertime: weeknight meals, get-togethers, BBQs, parties – and get your s’mores on, you know what I’m saying?
Let me present you the S’mores Dip. All the s’mores goodness minus the campfire and bug spray.
First, pre-heat your oven to 400 degrees (or turn on the broiler function fanciness). Grab 2-3 of your chocolate bars (or more, I’m not here to judge), break them up and arrange them at the bottom of your baking dish. Next, top with marshmallows. Remember to leave a little breathing room for the marshmallows since they expand in the heat and then put dish in the pre-heated oven for 5-7 minutes. Grab your graham crackers, dip and enjoy!
Less than 10 minutes, zero campfires and you’ve got yourself a dessert worthy of all the heart-eyed emojis in the world. You are welcome!
Do you have any out-of-the-box s’mores recipes / experiences? (Please tell me I’m not the only that has microwaved s’mores!)
Ah, this looks soooo good! I am going to have to try it. I am a big s’mores fan, and I have made s’mores bars and s’mores cookies before – which are great and all, but nothing compares to the real thing!
GIRL. I can’t even begin to describe how amazing it is! Might have to make some tonight 😉
Oh me! I’ve had all the stuff for s’mores sitting on my counter but haven’t had a chance to build a for yet. This dip may need to happen this weekend!
Woo! It really is just amazing
Oh my goodness! I need this in my life!
I’ll send you some if you send me all your cupcakes you’re always posting on Instagram! haha
Oh my glob, I love any variety in which I can make s’mores!
RIGHT?! This is why we’re friends 😉
This looks heavenly. Seriously. I might want to make it – but I never seem to let the ingredients last long enough to do so. 😉 Popping over from sitssharefest/sitsblogging!
